As someone who’s always felt at home in the skies, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to connect with my city. Being lifted off the ground and soaring high above the streets of Chicago, I was instantly mesmerized by how different and beautiful the city looked from up above. The towering skyscrapers, the winding Chicago River, and the sprawling urban landscape were all laid out below me like a living, breathing masterpiece.
Seeing Downtown Chicago’s skyline from this unique vantage point is honestly a thrill like no other. The city looked even more impressive from the sky—everything, from the sleek architecture to the vibrant riverfront, appeared even more majestic when viewed from a bird's-eye view. You can really get a sense of how Chicago's impressive skyline has shaped its identity, and being up there made me feel like I was floating above the heartbeat of the city.
Whether it was cruising past the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), Navy Pier, or taking in the sprawling beauty of Lake Michigan, the whole experience had me in awe. It’s easy to see why flying has always felt like home to me—there’s something magical about the freedom of the sky, and being able to share that with the city I love made it all the more special.
